KaLilah is an optimistic student at Northern Illinois University pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Sciences, with an emphasis on Family Social Services. While in college, she serves as a Community Advisor and Desk Assistant in the residence halls. She is also a member of the Decide to Commit Research Team, exploring commitment in couple relationships. These experiences have equipped her with foundational skills in casework, data analysis, and advocacy, which she will further develop at Simplifying Therapy. Her mission is to provide education on building sustainable life and relationship skills for individuals across the lifespan. KaLilah will begin pursuing a Master’s degree in Social Work at the University of Illinois Chicago in the fall.
As an intern, KaLilah will focus on parallel planning to address mental health resource disparities through assessments and direct client work. Additionally, her educational program on guiding parental management of internet safety for children ages 5–11 will be presented at an open house discussion. Her aspiration to lead social change is an initiative we look forward to fostering.
