In 2024, we partnered with FSA to train 15 staff on our Think & Behave Better curriculum and later offered the series to youth clients ages 13–17, followed by a Feeling & Being Better series for younger teens, with all participants reporting strong understanding, skill application, and positive impact.
From February to May 2025, we partnered with EPEL to support families through the Language in the Laundromat initiative and Coffee with a Purpose series, helping children build readiness skills and guiding parents in self-acceptance, healing, and growth.
Partnering with the Boys and Girls Club of South Elgin, we offered our Feeling & Being Better series in Summer 2024 and Winter 2025, creating a safe, supportive space where youth learned mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and communication skills.
I had the honor of teaching South Central students our Think & Behave Better curriculum through a trauma-informed class that helped them challenge negative thoughts, share personal experiences, and leave empowered with affirmations and lifelong mental health tools.
We partnered with the Gail Borden Library (and later KCHD) to deliver free community mental health education sessions—covering topics from challenging negative thoughts to improving communication and completing a four-part Think & Behave Better series.
Since March 2024, we have partnered with YouthBuild Elgin to provide weekly mental health education for 15–20 young men working toward their diplomas and construction certifications, creating a supportive space to address real-life challenges.
We’re grateful to the Kane County Health Department for featuring us on their HealthTalk Podcast, and in 2024–2025 we brought our Think & Behave Better and Feeling & Being Better series to the Boys and Girls Club and Gail Borden Library.
In Fall 2024, we partnered with Goat Yoga Chicago for the Fall on the Farm Series, where 10–15 participants enjoyed yoga, mindfulness, and a goat hike in a serene farm setting.
Since our first market in Fall 2022, we’ve been grateful to partner with the Elgin Market to share our mission and provide community education, and we look forward to returning on July 12 and August 23 this summer.
At the Brightpoint Summer Block Party in Elgin, we shared a free workshop on positive affirmations with over 30 families, promoting mindfulness and emotion regulation as essential skills to teach early.
In February, we attended the Batavia Resource Fair, sponsored annually by the Batavia PTA. This was our second year sharing our services and toolkits with the community.
Simplifying Therapy is proud to partner with the Elgin Police Department for National Night Out, supporting local officers and the community each year.
During Women’s History Month, we were honored to join the Elgin Community College Student Life Group at their Glow Up Health & Wellness Fair.
As part of our commitment to supporting students, we’re proud to participate in events hosted by the local school district.
We were honored to participate for the second year as a vendor at the Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Prayer Breakfast at Elgin Community College.
Elgin Human Relations Committee hosted Healing and Healthing—a powerful health-focused event and community discussion.
We were thrilled to join the community at Festival Park in downtown Elgin for a beautiful Juneteenth celebration.
In September 2025, Simplifying Therapy participated in the annual Hanover Park Fall Fun Fest for the first time.
From November 2023 through March 2023, we partnered with The Program House to offer our Think & Behave Better Series.
