Julia is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at the University of Georgia, with minors in Sociology and Law, Ethics, and Philosophy. At the university, she works as an undergraduate research assistant with the UGA Motivation Lab, focusing on how educational beliefs develop in students and what parents and teachers can do to foster motivational beliefs that help students succeed in their current classrooms and beyond. In addition to her academic pursuits, her work with organizations that provide educational and socialization opportunities for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder has equipped her with valuable knowledge and skills for working with youth in the field of psychology.

These experiences have sparked her interest in mental health and mental health education, and she is excited to learn more about the preventative approaches offered by Simplifying Therapy. She is particularly passionate about promoting mental health awareness, hoping to emphasize its importance to a wide audience. She will be starting a Mindful Monday series on our social media platforms to remind everyone that mental health care can be as simple as taking a moment for oneself each day.

Internship: June 2024 - August 2024
We were fortunate to have Julia on our team over the summer! We are excited for her to complete her final year at the University of Georgia and enter the field of psychology. Julia shared that her highlight was hosting her Coffee with a Purpose chat at Limestone Coffee in Batavia. In a small group of women, she facilitated a meaningful conversation and shared skills to help them reframe and manage anxiety and overwhelm. We are incredibly proud of all she accomplished during her short time over the summer break and wish her the very best!
